2018 Toyota 4Runner vs 2018 Chevy Tahoe

Advantages of the 2018 4Runner
As you can tell by looking at the table above, each vehicle has its strong suit. We thought we’d go through the table row by row to give you a better idea of each vehicle’s advantages. Unfortunately, the first row of the table starts off with a Tahoe advantage, as it offers an extra 85 horsepower more than the 4Runner.
However, the advantage isn’t quite as steep as it appears as you can see by glancing down to the second row. The 4Runner weights nearly 1,000 lbs. less than the Tahoe, which means it doesn’t need quite as much power to do the same things as the heavier Tahoe.

Vs |
2018 Chevy Tahoe |
---|---|---|
270 HP | Horsepower | 355 HP |
4,400 lbs. | Curb Weight | 5,355 lbs. |
47.2 cu. ft. | Cargo Capacity | 15.3 cu. ft. |
144.5 cu. ft. | Passenger Volume | 120.8 cu. ft. |
The second half of the table then dives into space, that we thought would’ve gone into the larger Tahoe’s favor. But because the Tahoe is designed to hold more people than it is cargo, the 4Runner has the advantage in both cargo capacity and passenger volume. Without the third row, there’s much more room in the cabin for both, so the 4Runner has an extra 31.9 cubic feet of extra cargo space and 24.7 cu. ft. of extra passenger volume.
