Interior and Technology
The Tundra’s interior has more than what you need to get to and from the job site – it can also serve as your mobile office. Take the available centre-console storage area designed to accommodate your hanging file folders or even a laptop – while the fold down storage box has room for all of your work items.
Comfort certainly isn’t an afterthought thanks to impressive legroom in the rear (nearly 4 feet). The 60/40 split rear seats can also fold down to create a flat workspace. The 1794 edition features saddle-brown leather seating and premium interior features like heated and cooled front seats and JBL Audio and navigation to upgrade your ride.
Technological features include an available backup camera that will display what is directly behind you – great for hooking up a trailer. The system can be integrated into the rear-view mirror or will display on the available navigation system.
Exterior and Handling
The Tundra is available with a number of cab choices including a 4X2 or 4×4 regular cab, double cab with a spacious cabin and seating for five or six, as well as the cavernous Crewmax with innovative technology and exceptional interior storage. The Tundra is available with three bed lengths: 5.5 feet, 6.5 feet and the 8.1 foot long box. Every element of the exterior is built with a purpose – from the wide 18″ wheels with available 20″ alloy wheels to stay grounded on the road to large headlights with a wide beam for improved visibility. Even the tailgate has been designed for ease of use, with a gas-charged damping strut to make for easy operation.
The Tundra is built to protect, with an array of safety features inspiring confidence on the road. Safety starts with the body and frame: the Tundra’s features a reinforced cab with extended front bumper that absorbs and redistributes impact forces through the frame rails and away from the occupants. Standard on all Toyota vehicles is the STAR safety system which incorporates vehicle stability control, traction control, ABS brakes, smart stop technology and electronic brake distribution. And the Toyota Tundra 4X4 system gives you traction when and where you need it to stay safe under all conditions. The 2014 Tundra will be the first pickup in its class to offer a standard backup camera on all trim levels, making it easier to hook up a trailer or negotiate tight parking spaces.
