2017 Toyota Highlander vs 2017 Honda Pilot
For the 2017 model year, the Toyota Highlander was given a mid-generation facelift that debuted at the New York Auto Show. Now offering a new, sporty exterior design and plenty of new features, it was poised to continue being an imposing force on the midsize crossover market. One of its biggest competitors was completely overhauled the year prior, and returns to continue turning heads the world over. We thought we’d pit the two against one another to figure out the differences between and advantages of each, by comparing the 2017 Toyota Highlander vs 2017 Honda Pilot.
Advantages of the 2017 Toyota Highlander
The table up above shows a side-by-side comparison of the two midsize crossovers, analyzing some of the most important specs in the segment. We thought we’d start right at the top and work our way down, starting with performance specs. In terms of horsepower, the Toyota Highlander offers an extra 15 HP, but only one extra pound-foot of torque. These don’t add up to be a huge advantage, especially in terms of torque, but those 15 extra horses will certainly deliver a more enjoyable driving experience each time you slide behind the wheel.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the third row shows that the Highlander will definitely save you some money through city streets, as it utilizes 0.6 l/100km less fuel. It also has an advantage on the highway, but only by 0.1 l/100km. Neither advantage is a game changer, but it does mean the Highlander will save you some money at the gas pump over time. Who doesn’t like that?
If these advantages plus the suite of outstanding features and other specifications make the 2017 Toyota Highlander sound like the right vehicle for you, then be sure to schedule a test drive right here on our website.
