2017 Toyota Camry vs 2017 Volkswagen Passat
Arguably the most popular vehicle on the Toyota lineup, and perhaps even one of the most popular sedans on the market as a whole here in Canada, the Toyota Camry is a midsize sedan that makes a great option for any type of driver. But what makes it such a great option? What make it a better choice than other, similar vehicles? We thought we’d point this out to you by comparing it to one of its biggest competitors. With that in mind, we decided to pit the 2017 Toyota Camry vs 2017 Volkswagen Passat.
Advantages of the 2017 Toyota Camry
When we set out to compare the Camry to one of its biggest competitors, the option we chose was an even bigger competitor than we could’ve imagined. The two vehicles specifications are nearly identical, with each advantage that either vehicle has being extremely minimal at best. The table above shows each of the specifications that we looked at, so let’s start right away at the top.
The first row is combined fuel efficiency, arguably one of the most important specifications in any vehicle, regardless of segment or class. The Camry comes away with the advantage, but only by 0.1 l/100km. While it might save you some pocket change in the long, it’s not a very noticeable advantage. Nor is 8 horsepower, which the next row shows is the power advantage that the Camry has over the Passat.
Space is always important as well, and while the Camry again takes the lead in passenger volume, it is again by a very small margin – only 0.2 cubic feet, to be exact. The final row shows that VW Passat finally fire back with an advantage of its own, in terms of trunk space, but its only by 0.5 cu. ft. of space, yet again not a very big lead.
If these subtle advantages are enough to sway you to the 2017 Toyota Corolla, and you don’t mind the slightly smaller trunk, then be sure to schedule a test drive for the newest Toyota Corolla right away, either by giving us a call or right here on our website.
