2016 Toyota Sienna vs 2016 Ford Transit Connect Wagon
While minivans have been falling out of the market for years, vehicles like the Swagger Wagon have kept the segment alive. So much so, that some brands are actually breathing life back into the dying class, like Ford with the Wagon version of its Transit Connect. We thought we’d see how one of the newest additions to the segment measures up to our favorite mainstay by comparing the 2016 Toyota Sienna vs 2016 Ford Transit Connect Wagon.
Advantages of the 2016 Toyota Sienna
At its heart, the Ford Transit Connect is a cargo van, but the wagon version was retrofitted to be a people-mover. One might think that that would make it a pretty powerful and spacious minivan, but unfortunately for the Transit Connect Wagon it didn’t. Starting from the top of the table above, the Sienna delivers nearly 100 extra horsepower and almost 75 more pound-feet of torque than the Ford Transit Connect, making it much more powerful.
Perhaps that power deficit could overlooked in favor of space or capability, but alas the Connect cannot offer either of these things either. In fact, the Sienna offers a whopping 46.1 cu. ft. of extra max cargo capacity, and can haul an extra 1,500 lbs. behind itself with a towing package installed. Both of these things combine to make the Sienna much more capable than its Ford counterpart, and we haven’t even dove into the fact that the Swagger Wagon is much more stylish both inside and out.
