2016 Toyota Sequoia vs 2016 Ford Expedition
If you’re looking for a vehicle that delivers a more classing Sport Utility Vehicle feel than most modern crossovers offer, then the Sequoia might be the right Toyota for you. But there are still plenty of full-size SUVs on the market that do the same thing, so what makes the Sequoia the right choice? We thought we’d answer that question by seeing how our favorite SUV measures up to one of its biggest competitors, with a comparison pitting the 2016 Toyota Sequoia vs 2016 Ford Expedition. The last update either vehicle has seen was in 2008 and 2007 respectively, so they’re each due for a makeover, but let’s look at the specs to see which offers the better total package.
Advantages of the 2016 Toyota Sequoia
The two vehicles are quite comparable to one another, but the Toyota Sequoia certainly has advantages in a couple of areas that make it the superior choice in our opinion. For instance, the very first row of the table above shows that the Sequoia offers an extra 16 horsepower. While not a massive advantage, it is enough to deliver a slightly better driving experience thanks to the extra boost of power. Of course, the Expedition fires back with 19 extra pound-feet of torque, though torque isn’t nearly as noticeable as a horsepower difference.
So let’s move onto space, which is perhaps the most important specification in a utility vehicle like these. Behind the back seat each vehicle offers roughly the same amount of space, though the Sequoia does get the nod with an extra 0.3 cu. ft. of cargo capacity. But drop all of the back seats and that advantage expands quite a bit, as the Sequoia offers nearly 12 cu. ft. of extra maximum cargo capacity.
So if space and power are important to you, then the Sequoia is the obvious choice. If you would be inclined to agree, be sure to schedule a test drive either right here on our website or by giving us a call at the sales desk. We’d also be happy to answer any questions that you might have!
