2016 Toyota RAV4 vs 2016 Nissan Rogue
With a host of different utility vehicles available on the Toyota lineup, few are as recognizable as the Toyota RAV4. A compact crossover adept at both street driving and the off road, plus one with a brand-new hybrid model, it makes the perfect vehicle for a wide array of different drivers. We thought we’d get to the bottom of why it’s so popular by measuring it up to one of its biggest rivals. With that in mind, we decided to compare the 2016 Toyota RAV4 vs 2016 Nissan Rogue, which is another compact crossover, but one that hasn’t been around nearly as long.
Advantages of the 2016 Toyota RAV4
These two crossovers are quite comparable to each other, with their specifications being extremely close to one another. Starting from the top of the table, for example, the Toyota RAV4 gets the nod in horsepower but only 6 hp. While that is an advantage, a difference of 6 hp isn’t going to be particularly noticeable. Which is why it’s good that that isn’t the only advantage the RAV4 has.
Moving on, the RAV4 also offers more cargo capacity than the Nissan Rogue. Behind the back seat there is an extra 6.4 cu. ft. of space to fill with luggage or whatever you need to bring along with you. Drop the seats to open up more space, and the RAV4 still has an advantage, though this time only by 3.4 cu. ft. A crossover is built to provide space to its drivers, so offering more space without sacrificing anything is a pretty big deal.
And speaking of spatial advantages, the 2016 Toyota RAV4 also offers more room for you and your passengers to stretch out and get comfortable in. 4.4 cu. ft. might not sound like a ton of space, but when you’re crammed into a vehicle every foot counts.
