Several days ago we helped you start thinking about Valentine’s Day plans by giving you a few restaurant ideas where you can take your date out to dinner. But if you want to do something a little more adventurous than simply dinner, we have a few more ideas on what to do for 2017 Valentine’s Day in Edmonton AB.
What’s more romantic than an intimate dance? On Valentine’s Day at either 6 or 7:45 p.m. you can attend a Valentine’s Salsa workshop to learn how to salsa dance in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere. For just $70+tax, you’ll get 90 minutes of instruction before spending the last 15 minutes simply dancing with your special someone.
Where the Wild Things Art
If you want something a little more relaxing, but just as adventurous, then you can head to the Edmonton Valley Zoo for Where the Wild Things Art. A special paint night, you’ll enjoy some wine and appetizers all while getting a chance to get close to their wonderful animals while painting a beautiful portrait.
Death by Chocolate
And finally, if you do want to go with the classic romantic dinner but want something… more, then you should check out Tom Goodchild’s Moose Factory’s Dinner & Murder Mystery called Death by Chocolate. For $89, you and your special someone will enjoy a wonderful buffet dinner and relaxing music while also getting to solve a Valentine’s-themed murder mystery with incognito professional actors interspersed into the patrons.
No matter what you decide to do for Valentine’s Day, we simply hope you have a wonderful day and night with your loved one.
The headline might have caught your attention, but before we dive into those details we’ve got a bit of precursory information we wanted to share. Have you ever wanted to go shopping for a used vehicle in the middle of winter, but decided to stay home instead because of how cold it is outside? It’s certainly an issue, especially here in Edmonton AB. To combat this nasty setback, we just finished construction on our brand-new Wheaton Toyota on the Trail Indoor Used Vehicles facility! Alongside our grand opening, we thought we’d run a bit of a sweepstakes where you can enter for a chance to win a free car.

How do I enter?
To celebrate the opening of our new indoor used vehicles building, we decided we would give away a very exciting pre-owned convertible that’s both stylish and feature-rich. While a convertible might not seem that exciting right now, considering winter is firmly up us, our contest will run through the end of May, just in time to break in your new 2013 Nissan 370Z.
In order to enter for you chance to win the 370Z, you just have to be one of the first 250 people to purchase a used vehicle from inside our new building. Upon purchase, there will be a tag on your keys that you can remove and put into a box for the drawing. There will be a party at the end of the event, and you must be present in order to win. Why do you have to be present? Because everyone who entered and shows up for the party will get a key and have a chance to open a lockbox. The person who is able to open the lockbox with their key will then win the 370Z.
If you have any questions, feel free to stop in or give us a call. Good luck!
Valentine’s Day is coming up just around the corner. If you’re looking for the perfect place to take that special someone in your life out to dinner, then we’ve got a few options for you to check out. These three restaurants should have 2017 Valentine’s Day specials, but you’ll want to make sure to book a reservation early.
CHOP South Edmonton
Located at 10111 Ellerslie Road SW, CHOP South Edmonton is an excellent place for steak, prime rib or seafood. Considered the ultimate steak experience across Canada, it has a wonderful environment for any occasion, including Valentine’s Day, plus an excellent selection of wine and cocktails.
Tom Goodchild’s Moose Factory
Tom Goodchild’s Moose Factory is an outstanding, traditional restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. Not only do they recommend you make reservations, but they’ll even allow you to prearrange a personalized desert or perhaps a bottle of champagne. Located at 4810 Calgary Trail South, the restaurant is another excellent steakhouse option, though they have plenty of other foods to offer as well.
Harvest Room at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald
Finally, no restaurant list would be complete without the Harvest Room at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald. Located in the hotel at 10065 100th Street, the restaurant has a huge choice of different foods and beverages and the perfect atmosphere for any occasion.
Wherever you choose to have dinner, or whatever you plan to do on your Valentine’s Day, we simply hope that you and that special someone enjoy the day and night. Happy Valentine’s Day from the whole Wheaton Toyota on the Trail family!
For many families, the tradition is to gather the family for Christmas dinner on Christmas day. For others, it might be on Christmas Eve, or some other tradition altogether. But if you’d like to go out for dinner on Christmas Eve 2016 instead of working hard in the kitchen all day or night, then we know of a few great restaurants that will be open that night.
The L2 Grill is located inside the Fantasyland Hotel, and will offer without a doubt the most exciting Christmas Eve experience. For starters, their chefs have won awards and promise to deliver a wonderful me no matter what day it is. But on Christmas Eve, they’ll offer a 5-course meal for $55 running from 5:00 to 10:30 p.m. Plus, they’ll also be open for other meals for the holiday, including Christmas Day Brunch and Dinner. Check out their menu and specials online for more details.
West Edmonton Keg
While it won’t be offering a holiday-inspired 5-course meal, the West Edmonton Keg will remain open on Christmas Eve as well. They’ll begin seating for the evening at 3:00 p.m. and will sit their last table at 8:00 p.m. While some reservations will be allowed, adhering to the first-come-first-served policy is encouraged.
Lastly, you can head to the 4404 Restaurant in the Delta Marriott on Gateway Boulevard NW. They offer a pretty outstanding buffet that has become quite famous, and it will run from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. If buffets are your thing, then we definitely recommend the 4404 as it offers an outstanding selection that will have something for everyone in the family.
If you do decide to hit one of these restaurants up, we hope that you enjoy it. But either way, everyone here at Wheaton Toyota on the Trail would like to wish you a Merry Christmas!
Boxing Day – which is always December 26th, the day after Christmas – came about many moons ago. It was initially called Boxing Day because employees (or, back then, servants and tradesmen) would receive Christmas boxes from their employers, or even customers. Today, it’s more of a shopping day, with tons of great deals across the country, much like the United States’ Black Friday. If you’re looking for where to shop in Edmonton AB this year, then we’ve got a few ideas for you.
West Edmonton Mall
The largest shopping centre in the city, you can bet West Edmonton Mall will be a destination for shoppers on Boxing Day. We tried to find information on mall-wide sales or special deals for their big-name stores, but couldn’t find anything. We imagine there will be plenty to do and hope that all of your favorite stores will offer great sales prices if you decide to hit up WEM the day after Christmas.
If the West Edmonton Mall isn’t your scene or it’s already been picked clean, then Kingsway Mall would be your next-best bet, as it’s the second largest mall in Edmonton. It might not have as many stores, and we still don’t have any information on specific sales, but it still makes a great place to shop. So if shopping is your way to celebrate Boxing Day, stopping by Kingsway Mall is a great plan!
While malls are great, especially when it comes to bulk buying while taking advantage of major sales, it’s hard to be the experience of shopping on Whyte Avenue. Whyte Ave, a street filled with great little shops and stores, is one of the most popular places to shop in Edmonton regardless of what day it is. while we don’t know if any of the stores will be celebrating Boxing Day with crazy sales or deals, we do know you’ll find something you love no matter what.
Whether you plan on going shopping on Boxing Day or not, we simply hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a relaxing Boxing Day. Happy Holidays from the whole Wheaton Toyota on the Trail family!
Pictures with Santa Edmonton AB
One of the most memorable and fun events around Christmas time every year is taking the kids to get their pictures taken with Santa Claus. The looks on their faces when they actually get to meet the jolly old fella bringing them all their presents on Christmas are priceless. Just like last year, if you don’t feel like heading to the mall or anywhere else, then you can bring them right here to Wheaton Toyota on the Trail to get pictures with Santa in Edmonton AB.
When can I get their photos taken?
There are three days left to come get your photos taken with Santa Claus here at Wheaton Toyota on the Trail: December 3rd, 10th and 17th from noon until 5:00 p.m. every day, except the last day when he’ll stick around for an extra hour. There’s a few perks to getting your pictures with Santa from us, not the least of which is the fact that you won’t have to deal with lines that are anywhere near as long as at the mall. Another perk is that we’ll photograph adults, kids and even pets, so you can bring the whole family!
But the biggest perk is, of course, the fact that your photo will be free. Come in and take a look at some cars, and when it’s your turn you can get the family ready, introduce the kids to Santa Claus, and then get your picture taken for free. Your family will be allowed one picture, and you’ll get both a digital copy via email and a 4×6 printed copy as well.
Oh, and furthermore, if you share the digital copy of your picture on Facebook or Instagram and tag Wheaton Toyota on the Trail, then you’ll be entered to win a $250 Visa Gift Card. Don’t think they do that at the mall! So come check out some incredible new Toyota vehicles, introduce the kids to Saint Nick, get your free picture taken, and enter for a chance to win $250! Three weekends left, don’t miss your chance.
