One of the things we're currently most excited about is, of course, the 2019 Toyota RAV4. Completely redesigned for the upcoming model year, we've already looked at many of its specs & features and the details about what's new, but today we wanted to take another look and this time focus specifically on two of the most important aspects of the vehicle: performance & technology.
Performance
Today we're going to talk specifically about the gasoline-powered RAV4 rather than muddying the waters by talking about the RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid at the same time. So, with that in mind, there is only one powertrain "option" in the RAV4: a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine tethered to an 8-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission. While precise horsepower ratings have yet to be announced, we know that the engine's improvements will lead to superior power over the previous iteration alongside improved efficiency, both of which are quite exciting. Performance is further enhanced by a number of features like Multi-Terrain Select, Dynamic Torque Vectoring, and more.
Technology
The all-new 2019 Toyota RAV4 is packed with outstanding technologies and features, not the least of which is its JBL Audio System and Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 package - but we've talked about both of those already, so let's focus on some of the other technological features found in the 2019 RAV4. These features include things like Qi wireless charging, Entune 3.0 multimedia with Apple CarPlay and non-TSS safety features like its Electronic Parking Brake, Intelligent Clearance Sonar, Bird's Eye View, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Smart Stop Technology, and so much more.
