Without a doubt the most exciting vehicle of the outgoing model year, the 2018 Toyota C-HR has begun to get a bit overshadowed by new 2019 models. We thought we'd return to the impressive, brand-new crossover to refresh your memory on what makes it such an excellent option. While we've looked at a few different areas before, we've yet to really focus on the vehicle's performance & efficiency, so that's what we'll cover today!
The C-HR was originally a Scion concept car, and thus it's a monospec vehicle without trim levels to choose from, at least for the moment. So, there is only one powertrain, and it obviously comes standard in the 2018 C-HR. A 2.0L 4-cylinder VALVEMATIC engine that's capable of doling out an impressive 144 horsepower. That might not sound all that impressive, but the C-HR is a small vehicle, so that's plenty of horses to deliver an enjoyable experience each time you slide behind the wheel. Plus, the engine achieves 8.7 l/100km through the city and 7.5 l/100km on the highway, thus making it pretty affordable to drive as well.
In addition to the engine, there are a few other performance features that enhance the driving experience of the C-HR even further. For starters, its continuously variable transmission delivers seamless shifting as you drive, while features like Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, and Hill-Start Assist Control enable even better handling while on the go. Finally, the braking system, outfitted with ABS, braking assist, and electronic brake force distribution, make sure you'll be in total control of your vehicle at any time.
Of course, putting even more control in your hands is the Drive Mode Select system, which enables you to turn on a sport mode with a simulated 7-speed sequential Shiftmatic transmission, enhancing acceleration with a higher total engine speed. Essentially delivering even more fun. If these specs & features have you excited about the 2018 Toyota C-HR, get in touch with us right away to schedule a test drive!
