2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Canadian Release Date

At the New York International Auto Show, Toyota made a surprise introduction as they unveiled the all-new 2019 Corolla Hatchback. Replacing the 2018 Toyota Corolla iM, the new Corolla Hatchback will build upon what the iM has already established over the past year. Adopting a few new design cues, most notably brand-new front and rear ends, in addition to other upgrades like an all-new TNGA powertrain and a couple of new transmission options, we cannot wait for the Canadian release date of this all-new compact sedan. We dive into a few more of the updates found in the hatchback below.

What's new in the 2019 Corolla Hatchback?

Most of what's new in the 2019 Corolla Hatchback is actually found in the different advanced safety features that make up the Toyota Safety Sense packages. For instance, the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection is now capable of detecting pedestrians at night in addition to daytime, as well as being able to detect cyclists during the daytime. Additionally, the Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist system can now detect the edge of the road in addition to visible lane markers.

On top of these improvements, a new feature joins the ranks of the second generation of Toyota Safety Sense: Lane Tracing Assist. LTA is capable delivering steering assistance when turned on, tracking the center line by recognizing either white or yellow lane markers - or by following the path of a preceding vehicle while lines are temporarily unavailable. This is a huge bonus for long-distance road trips and heavy congestion.
