In today’s market, a vehicle that is both easy on your wallet and environmentally friendly is ticking off a lot of checkboxes for most shoppers. If those are two of your own checkboxes, then consider the 2018 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, which certainly covers those fields. We thought we’d revisit the Highlander Hybrid for the first time in a while to give you the rundown on some of its key specs & features.

“With the Highlander we have combined the space and versatility of an SUV with the ride comfort and handling of a premium sedan. Highlander [Hybrid] is stylish and refined – well-mannered enough to be a pleasure to drive every day and ready for weekend getaways with family and friends.”
– Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc.
While the Highlander Hybrid obviously isn’t going to be as efficient as the much smaller Toyota Prius or even Camry Hybrid, the nice thing about this hybrid crossover is that it delivers similar power to other crossovers its size but superior efficiency. To be a bit more specific, the Highlander Hybrid generates a net power rating of 306 horsepower while achieving 8.5 l/100km on the highway and 8.1 l/100km through city streets.
Of course, efficiency and environmental friendliness aren’t the only things that the Highlander Hybrid has to offer. There are plenty of great features found throughout the vehicle, inside and out, but we thought we’d highlight two specifically that we think are pretty incredible and are still fairly new. First, you can opt for the available Bird’s Eye View Monitor, which gives you a panoramic view of your vehicle’s surroundings on the display audio screen. Second, Driver EasySpeak allows you to speak through the rear speakers, making it much easier to communicate with your kids or whoever is riding in the back.
