As the 2019 models begin to get unveiled and announced, it’s about time the final vehicle still clinging to its 2017 model gets a much-deserved update: the Toyota 86. Our popular little sports car continues to turn heads, and it will now do so with its own Gran Turismo trim level as the 2018 model year will add the 2018 Toyota 86 GT to the lineup. We cannot wait to get our hands on one of these special trim levels, or the standard 86 for that matter.

“Inspired by the legendary Toyota 2000 GT, the Toyota 86 is an authentic, track-tested sports coupe. From its aggressive styling to its well-balanced performance, to the quality and safety that are hallmarks of Toyota, this is the ride for those who live for drifting, slaloming, and spirited driving.”
– Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc.
What’s new in the 86?
For the 2018 model year, the only major change is the addition of the 86 GT, which enhances the style, technology and comfort features available in the sports car. The new GT trim level is available in either the manual or automatic transmission, and adds the following features to make it even more valuable: a rear spoiler, a Smart Key System featuring Push Button Start, dual-zone automatic climate control, an anti-theft alarm system, fog lamps, heated front leather seats, a 4.2” multi-information display in the instrument cluster, and much more.
