We’re in love with crossover utility vehicles as much as the next person, but that doesn’t mean we stopped being fans of the original, traditional SUV. In fact, we’ve still got one on the lineup here at Toyota on the Trail. The 2018 Toyota Sequoia first joined the lineup back at the turn of the century and has been going strong ever since. This year, it received a refresh with a few cosmetic upgrades inside and out, additional safety features, and, most excitingly, its very first Toyota Racing Development trim level.

TRD Sport Package
If you’re a fan of Toyota at all, then by now you’ve probably heard of Toyota Racing Development. If that’s not ringing any bells, then perhaps its abbreviation – TRD – will. Vehicles like the Tacoma, Tundra, and 4Runner have had numerous TRD trim levels in the past, adding performance and off-road upgrades alike to offer more specialized trim levels. The 2018 model year marks the first time the Sequoia will join the fold, and we couldn’t be more excited.
The 2018 Toyota Sequoia TRD Sport adds features like TRD-tuned Bilstein shocks, front and rear sway bars, black leather seating, 8 speakers, a 6.1” display audio system, integrated SiriusXM radio, Bluetooth connectivity, 20” black alloy wheels, front and rear clearance sonar, and many other great features.
Other Specs & Features
Of course, there is much more to be excited about with the 2018 Sequoia than its new trim. For drivers who have no interest in improved performance and off-road capabilities, there are plenty of non-TRD trim levels to choose from that all offer an abundance of capability despite a lack of upgrades and plenty of versatile space to fill with either people or cargo.
The 2018 Toyota Sequoia might not be as efficient as the crossovers in our lineup, but it’s far more powerful and capable. If you’re interested in learning more or getting behind the wheel, be sure to get in touch with us at the sales desk or schedule a test drive right here on our website.
