“Pickup truck owners are the most brand loyal when it comes to shopping for a new vehicle – and with the Tundra, we set out to create a full-size pickup that would attract new customers to the Toyota brand. Our success proves that Tundra has what it takes – from power that never quits, to styling that makes a bold statement, to comfort and features that are a welcome surprise to pickup fans who have never experienced a Tundra. With two new TRD Sport models, plus enhancements across our line-up we’re excited to introduce the 2018 Tundra to Canadians.”
– Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc.
When it comes to pickup trucks, the definition of a trim level gets a little fuzzy, as there are so many different options that you have to take into consideration. Drivetrain, cab size, bed length, engine options, etc., etc. Taking the strictest sense possible, the Tundra has 4 trim levels: SR5, SR5 Plus, Limited, and Platinum. Each of these is split into different options, and certain models have the option to add additional packages.
Options & Packages
The SR5 is available as a 4×4 Double Cab with the 4.6L engine, and the 4×4 CrewMax with the 5.7L engine. In the former, you can add the SR5 Plus package to essentially turn it into an SR5 Plus model. The latter, however, you can add the highly-coveted TRD Offroad or TRD Sport packages.
The SR5 Plus model is available in three different forms. Double Cab with 5.7L engine option in either 4×2 or 4×4, and then you can add a Long Bed to the 4×4 model to create the third option. The regular bed 4×4 is the other Tundra in which the TRD Offroad and TRD Sport packages are available.
That brings us to our last three models, first two versions of the Limited trim level: 4×4 Double Cab with 5.7L and 4×4 CrewMax with 5.7L. The final Tundra is the Platinum trim, which is available as a 4×4 CrewMax with the 5.7L engine. It is, however, possible to add on the 1974 Edition package to this model, and this model only.
