Last year we saw the return of the popular Scion iM, not only with an updated look but a new badge as it was renamed the Toyota Corolla iM. Now as the 2018 model year is upon us, we’re excited to see the return of the versatile 5-door hatchback version of the oldest Toyota vehicle on the lineup. We thought we’d take a look at the new model’s specs & features despite the fact that it is a carryover from last year, to refresh your memory on what makes it such a great option in the compact hatchback sedan segment.

Safety
Safety is one of the most important aspects of any vehicle. The Corolla iM certainly has you covered with a host of both traditional and advanced safety features. As for the former, the Corolla iM offers eight total airbags even in its compact stature. As for the latter, it comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense C, which features the Pre-Collision System, Automatic High Beams and Lane Departure Alert.
Performance
Power and efficiency are also important in a multitude of vehicle segments. The Corolla iM is powered by a 1.8L engine, making it capable of doling out 137 horsepower. The engine still allows the Corolla iM to retain a nice fuel efficiency at 8.4 l/100km through the city and 6.5 l/100km on the highway.
Other Features
The Corolla iM is of course packed with a host of other features both inside and out. R-speed tires are wrapped around 17” alloy wheels, Electronic Power Steering enhances maneuverability while a 60/40 split-folding rear seats make the cabin more versatile.
