2018 Toyota C-HR Specs & Features
We finally got some more information on the upcoming 2018 Toyota C-HR, as Toyota gave us a deeper look at the all-new subcompact crossover’s specs & features. We already gave you the inside scoop on the C-HR’s fuel economy ratings and how much it’s different trim levels will cost, but now we’ve got some details on some of the features that the vehicle will offer in addition to details on the crossover’s power.
“When Toyota unveiled the C-HR concept model in 2015, it broke the conventional language of compact crossover design – and the production model remains true to that concept’s avant-garde physique, its modern yet comfortable cabin, and its bold, outgoing character. Deputy chief engineer Hiro Koba and his team also build in a ton of driving fun, with a punchy engine and exceptional responsiveness and handling that makes every trip in the C-HR a springboard for adventure.”
– Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc.
As we mentioned when we touched on fuel efficiency a few weeks ago, the 2018 C-HR will be powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine. While we filled you in on the fuel efficiency the engine would achieve – 8.2 l/100km combined – we didn’t mention how much power would be offered alongside it. The answer is 144 horsepower alongside 139 pound-feet of torque. Those aren’t mind blowing figures, but when you have such a small crossover you don’t need much more power than that, and it will still deliver an enjoyable, efficient experience every time you get behind the wheel.
As for the kind of features it will offer, there are a ton of things that will make the C-HR a truly wonderful vehicle to drive. From performance upgrades like the MacPherson strut front suspension, to safety features like the Toyota Safety Sense P package and even the little things like 17” alloy wheels and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat.
