Restaurants Open for Thanksgiving 2016 Edmonton AB
Many people think that Thanksgiving means spending the whole day hovering in the kitchen, cooking turkey and a number of side dishes in preparation for your extended family to show up. Whether your extended family decides to come, or you just keep it to the household, you don’t have to spend the whole day in the kitchen.
Instead, there are plenty of restaurants around Edmonton that stay open and offer special Thanksgiving meals, either for brunch or dinner. We’ve come up with a small list of just three, but if you don’t like any of these options we’re sure you could find something else you like right here in town.
Italian cuisine might not sound quite right for a Thanksgiving dinner, but if you’re ready to try something different for Thanksgiving 2016… Violino Ristorante is the place to do it. Located at 10133 125 St. NW in Edmonton, you can get a family-style, five-course Italian brunch for $49.99 per person. This is a meal you do not want to miss out on, even if it’s not the generic turkey and stuffing.
The Harvest Room at Fairmont MacDonald
If you’d rather go with something a little more traditional, then you can head to the Fairmont Hotel MacDonal’s Harvest Room for a 4-course Thanksgiving dinner. The great thing is that even if you want to do the traditional cook-all-day on Thanksgiving, you can get this great meal from Oct. 7-10th, so you can do both! At $89 per person, it is a bit pricy, but spectacular food makes it well worth it.

And finally, we come to the popular Ampersand 27. We’re not sure yet if they’ll have a special Thanksgiving Day menu, but we do know they’ll be open, and that their food is always terrific.
With these three choices, you’re guaranteed to have a delicious meal somewhere, even if you don’t want to spend the whole day cooking at home. If you know of any other great choices, be sure to let us know in the comments below or on social media!
