“With the 2017 Toyota 86, the icon comes home. For decades, fans have embraced legendary sports cars like the 2000GT, the Sports 800 and the Corolla AE86 – cars that delivered victories on the track and street cred to the Toyota name. For 2017, we’ve drawn upon Toyota performance heritage to create our purest sports car yet – the Toyota 86.”

What does the Toyota 86 have to offer?
The sporty new 86 will only be available in two different models, with the main differentiator being the transmission – either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. The new coupe is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that doles out 200 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque with the automatic, or a slightly-boosted 205 HP, 156 lb-ft. with the manual.
Aside from a simple name and badging change, the new Toyota 86 has undertaken quite a few stylistic changes from its old Scion FR-S frame as well. Some of the upgrades include a bigger center intake system to draw attention to the sports car’s stance, reconfigured LED lamps on both the front and back as well as new bumpers. Even the wheels or new, offering an ultra-thin spoke design to convey the car’s agility. The inside is upgraded as well, both in terms of design and features.
