2017 Toyota Highlander Specs & Features
Earlier this year, Toyota revealed a slightly-enhanced Highlander to attendees at the New York International Auto Show. While not nearly as major as something like the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime, the updates happening to the new Highlander are definitely exciting for enthusiasts of the popular crossover. Not only is the exterior style slightly enhanced, but performance has been boosted as well thanks to both a new engine and transmission option. With features being standardized on multiple grades, plus the introduction of a brand-new grade, there is plenty to get excited about with the all-new 2017 Toyota Highlander specs & features.
What’s new in the 2017 Toyota Highlander?
For starters, as we mentioned, subtle changes to the exterior style have bene implemented to breath a refreshing breath of air into the third-generation model that hasn’t been updated since 2013. With three next exterior colors as well, you know you’ll be getting a fresh look no matter which Highlander grade you choose. And speaking of grades, a new SE trim level was added to the lineup as well.
But perhaps more exciting to many than the design changes, the 2017 Highlander has received an all-new 3.5L V6 engine that features D-4S fuel injection. In addition, a new Direct Shift 8-speed automatic transmission helps to improve both performance and efficiency. A brand-new, available Stop and Start Engine System – AKA S&S – continues to improve fuel efficiency.
Additionally, the more advanced Toyota Safety Sense P package is also now standard across all trim levels, including the four Highlander Hybrid grades. We think it goes without saying, anyone in the market for a midsize crossover should definitely stop in and take a closer look at the all-new 2017 Toyota Highlander.
