2016 Toyota Tundra Power & Capabilities
When it comes to reputation, most of Toyota’s probably has to do with hybrid technology and impressive fuel efficiency. Their trucks might not be the first vehicles to pop into your head, but the truth is the brand has two very impressive pickups on their lineup. The 2016 Tundra’s power is generated by either a 4.6L V8 that delivers 310 horsepower alongside 327 pound-feet of torque, or a 5.7L V8 that delivers 381 horsepower alongside 401 pound-feet of torque. Either option offers plenty of power, but obviously the less powerful option will deliver a bit more in the way of efficiency, while the more powerful will likely have heightened capabilities.
The 2016 Toyota Tundra is either automatically equipped or can be upgraded with a host of great capability-enhancing features. Things like an integrated trailer brake controller make sure even your heaviest load will stop when it’s supposed to, while trailer-sway control makes sure it stays in the position it’s supposed to. Those are just two of the features available, so it’s only scratching the surface.
But what about the actual capability specifications of the Tundra? Exact numbers will vary depending on what model you decide to go with. The max weight the truck’s bed can handle – or its max payload – ranges from 1,585 to 2,060 lbs. As for how much weight it can handle for towing, that ranges from 6,800 to a whopping 10,500 lbs.
So as you can see, the 2016 Toyota Tundra is pretty capable and quite powerful as well.
