Things to do on a Rainy Day in Edmonton AB
A rainy day might stop you from an afternoon at the beach or playing in the yard, but it shouldn’t put a hamper on your day as a whole. Here in the city, there is plenty to do indoors away from the rain, and you’ll only get wet on your trek from the car to the front door – and vice versa. If you’ve run out of ideas for fun things to do on a rainy day in Edmonton AB, then we’ve got a couple things we think you’ll enjoy.
The Fun Dome
If you want a great place to take the whole family for some safe-from-the-rain fun, there may be no better place than The Fun Dome at 10104 32 Avenue NW. Open for drop-ins Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and available for private bookings on the weekend, The Fun Dome is packed with all kinds of indoor activities like giant inflatables, bounce houses and even an 18-hole mini-golf course.
If inflatables and bounce houses aren’t exactly your style, then perhaps an escape to the pyramids is in order. A beautifully-designed botanical garden, the Muttart Conservatory offers three year-round displays and a fourth display that changes frequently, filled with incredible plants and flowers. If you’d like to take a stroll through some gorgeous scenery while learning a bit about the environment while you’re at it, then this is the perfect place to do it.
If you’re looking for something a little bit more active without all the inflatables, then Vertically Inclined Rock Gym might just be the perfect place. After twenty years of business, Vertically Inclined is the premier location for climbing up rock walls. Littered with tons of different walls for all sorts of climbers, no matter the experience level, the Rock Gym is the perfect place to get in a good workout while having some fun as well.
Considering this weekend’s forecast doesn’t look too good, we thought this would be the perfect time to fill you in on these ideas. We hope that, whether it’s something on this list or something you came up with on your own, you enjoy your fun indoors safe from the rain!
Currently, The Fun Dome and Vertically Inclined are offering free admittance for those affected by the Fort McMurray wildfire throughout the month of May 2016. Just present your ID proving residency, and enjoy a bit of relief from everything that’s happening.
