named this new engine the 2016 Best New Innovation Technology award. The 3.5L V6 engine in the 2016 Tacoma is the first V6 engine in Canada to combine D-4S injection with the Atkinson Cycle.

It is even able to produce up to 278 horsepower, which is 14 percent more compared to the V6 engine on the previous Tacoma model. It is also able to provide up to 265 lb-ft of torque, which gives the Tacoma impressive towing capabilities. The new Atkinson engine also helps reduce fuel consumption by 15 percent compared to the previous V6 engine. The new Tacoma engine has proved that it is more powerful and fuel efficient than most other pickup trucks on the market.
