Traveling Across Canada
Now that the weather has turned cold, it’s getting difficult to remember the warm weather of summer. We look back in longing at that one time we went swimming or went on a camping trip. Those memories seem so far away but they help us remember that winter doesn’t last forever. Another nice remember of summer is the organization, The Great Canadian Journey. This group’s goal is to celebrate Canada by supporting local establishments. Last summer, they were traveling across Canada in 60 days. They have posted videos, pictures and blogs about their journey. The best part of the journey is that they used a Toyota RAV4 to get there.
The Great Canadian Journey was created by Brendan Henry. He wanted to use this project as an opportunity to travel across Canada from coast to coast while highlighting local artists, businesses and adventures. This project relied on social media users to tell them where to stop and what local attractions to check out. Now that their journey has been completed, they have posted an interactive map of all the suggestions they received and visited in each province. They also created videos documenting their journey along with the people and places they visited along the way.
Their whole journey was partially sponsored with the help of Toyota Canada who provided them with a 2014 Toyota RAV4. This vehicle helped them get across the country in style. They even stopped in the Edmonton area at Elk Island National Park. The Toyota RAV4 was the perfect travel companion because it had enough space for all their gear and proved to have impressive fuel economy so they could spend less time and money refueling.
